Bray was a midfielder on the Big Red Ivy League lacrosse championships teams of 1975, 1976 and 1977. The three-year letter winner was an honorable mention selection on both the All-America and All-Ivy League teams in 1977, when Cornell won its second consecutive NCAA Division I title. Bray scored 19 goals and assisted on 17 tallies for 36 points during his three-year varsity career, during which tie Cornell compiled an overall record of 44-2, including an 18-0 record in Ivy League play. He was also a North-South All-Star game selection following his senior year.
