Wurzburger was a two-time All-America and an All-Ivy honorable mention attackman, helping the 1987 and 1988 lacrosse teams to runner-up finishes at the NCAA championships. He set the Ivy League record for goals scored in a game with nine vs. Dartmouth in 1988. Wurzburger graduated ranked eighth on Cornell's career goals-scored list with 89 and ranked sixth in season goals (49).  He was second on the team in scoring in 1988 (49-1-50) and was third in 1987 (38-2-40).
