Emmerich was a third-team All-American as a senior goalie in 1974. That same season, he was awarded the team’s Joe Phillip Memorial Award for the person who most contributed to the overall team effort. A two-year letter winner, he was also selected first-team All-Ivy in each of his final two seasons. As a junior in 1973 Emmerich’s 181 saves on the season ranked second all-time in Cornell history, and at the time of his graduation, his 345 career saves ranked third all-time.
