A two-time All-Ivy selection in cross country with top six finishes, Hammond earned honorable mention All-America honors in the 1,500 meters outdoors in 2022 with a 17th-place finish. A three-time NCAA Northeast Regional competitor that finished as high as 10th in 2022, Hammond was a four-time Heps runner-up and a champion in the 4x800 relay outdoors as a junior. The school record holder in the mile, he also ranked in the top 10 all-time at 1,000 and 1,500 meters. He spent a graduate year of eligibility at Washington where he placed 11th as part of the Distance Medley Relay at the NCAA Indoor Championships to capture All-America honors.
