Hyde was a first-team All-American in 2004 after placing 27th at the NCAA Championships. Earlier that year, Hyde won both the Heptagonal and INCAA Northeast Regional title. He was the Heps champion in the 3,000 meters in 2005 and finished his Big Red career as one of the top distance runners in school history. Hyde posted top 10 times ever at Cornell in the mile, 1,500 and 3,000 meters.
