Holland was selected to the Associated Press All-America third team and was a honorable mention pick by UPI as a senior. Holland was an AP and UPI All-East selection and a first-team All-ECAC pick after finishing second in nation in rushing (1376 yards) and scoring (16 touchdowns), behind only Heisman Trophy winner Billy Sims of Oklahoma. He was a unanimous All-Ivy first team pick in 1978, posting 1,213 yds. in 7 Ivy games to become the second Ivy player ever to gain over 1,000 yards in league play. His career rushing totals were 370 carries for 1,755 yards. The two-time CoSIDA Academic All-American (first team in 1977 and 1978) eamed team MVP accolades in 1978. Holland also competed as a sprinter on the track and field team.
