Wilson was an honorable mention All-America selection by the Associated Press in 1965 as a fullback when he was a first-team All-Ivy pick. He graduated ranked third in school history in career rushing yards (1,522) and scored 13 touchdowns. His 848 rushing yards in 1965 was the second-highest toal in school history at the time, as was his 181 yards in a single game, posted at Brown that season. Wilson had four 100-yard rushing games in his career and earned the team's Pop Warner Most Valuable Player Award in 1965.
