Sierra was a third team All-American and a second-team All-Ivy midfielder in 1978 after helping the Big Red to a 13-1 record (6-0 Ivy), an Ivy League championship, and a national runner-up finish in 1978. He finished the season with 19 goals and nine assists for 23 points. Following the season, Sierra was named the team’s C.F. Morse Lacrosse Scholar-Athlete of the Year, given annually to the lacrosse player who combines best the physical attributes of the Spartan and the scholastic achievement of the Athenian. He was also an honorable mention All-Ivy selection in 1977.Â
