CoSIDA Academic All-American
Shearer was a first-team CoSIDA Academic All-American as a senior in 2014. Shearer, a three-time All-Ivy League selection in cross country and a two-time first-team honoree, was a two-time NCAA all-region pick. She was the individual runner-up at the Heptagonal championships in 2012. A part of four Heps championship teams (two cross country, two outdoor track and field), Shearer was team captain of both squads as a senior. A Marshall Scholar and a candidate for a Rhodes Scholarship, Shearer was co-President of the Red Key Honor Society and a member of the Quill & Dagger Honor Society. The Academic All-Ivy League pick held the school's 3,000 meter record indoors (9:11.68) and sat second in the event outdoors (9:25.95). She posted a perfect 4.00 grade point average while double majoring in biological sciences and government.
