Teat is among the best to have ever worn the red and white for the Cornell men’s lacrosse team, finishing his career as a two-time Tewaaraton Trophy Nominee, three-time USILA All-American, and four-time Inside Lacrosse Media All-American. He received All-Ivy accolades on three occasions, including unanimous first-team All-Ivy selections in 2018 and 2019. With as decorated as Teat’s career is, the accolades would have continued to pile up if his senior season hadn’t been cut short after five games and the 2021 season canceled due to COVID-19. During the shortened 2020 season that saw Cornell go 5-0 and rise to No. 2 in the USILA rankings before its cancellation, Teat moved into third all-time in career points. He’ll leave Cornell ranked third all-time in career points (268), third in career assists (152), and ninth in career goals (116). Teat is just one of two players in Cornell history to post three-straight 30-goal, 30-assist seasons, accomplishing this feat as a freshman, sophomore, and junior. He is also just one of four players to amass 70 points in three-straight campaigns, becoming just the fourth Big Red player to score his 100th career goal as a junior. He is also just the eighth player in Ivy League history to score 250 career points. Teat’s entire career is nothing short of impressive, but perhaps his sophomore season stands out the most. A unanimous first-team All-Ivy League selection, Teat was named both a first-team Inside Lacrosse Media and first-team USILA All-American after guiding the Big Red to the 2018 Ivy League Tournament Championship and a NCAA Tournament berth. Teat helped Cornell down Syracuse in the first round of the NCAA Tournament and advance to the quarterfinals. He finished the season with 62 assists, the third most for a single-season in Cornell history, and 99 points, the fourth-most in the Big Red record books. He reached 100 career points faster than any other four-year player in NCAA history (18 games), matching the mark established by Tim Nelson (NC State/SU). For his efforts, he was not only named a Tewaaraton Trophy nominee, but to the USILA Player of the Year Watch List as well. As a freshman, Teat broke Rob Pannell's Cornell freshman scoring record with 72 points. He finished the regular season as the highest scoring freshman in the nation, and was fourth overall in assists per game. He set the single-game freshman scoring record in just his fourth collegiate game when he registered 11 points vs. No. 13 Virginia and then broke the record with 12 points in a win over No. 13 Princeton. In addition to setting the school’s freshman point record, Teat finished the season ranked second all-time among Big Red freshman in goals (33) and assists (39).
