Cobb was was a four-time All-American on the basis of her performances at the NCAA track and cross country championships: fifth in the indoor mile in 1991; sixth in the indoor mile 1992; 13th outdoor in the 1500 in 1991; ninth at cross country championships in 1991. The five-time All-East performer won the ECAC indoor mile in 1991 and finished second in 1992. She won five individual Heps titles and seven as a member of Heps-winning relays and placed second at the Heps Cross Country championships in 1990 and 1991 to earn All-Ivy first team honors. She set Cornell records in the freshman indoor 800 and the 500m; and as a member of the 3200 relay and distance medley relays. Cobb was a finalist for the NCAA Woman of the Year Award in 1992 and a two-time GTE Academic All-America first-team selection. She was named the Ithaca Journal Female Athlete of the Year for 1992 and was captain of the 1991 cross country team.
