Lofquist was named to the All-America Second Team and All-Ivy League First Team for men's squash in 1997 after his sophomore campaign. He advanced to the semifinals in the consolation bracket of the National Intercollegiate Squash Racquets Association Individual Championships that season, posting a 15-9 record from the No. 1 spot in Big Red team matches. Lofquist formerly played with Sweden's junior national team. He also lettered as a junior for the 1997-98 season, when he was 11-7 from the No. 1 spot and the Big Red won a program-record 17 matches. Lofquist also played for the men's soccer team in 1997.
