Boateng was a dynamic striker for the Big Red during the early 50’s. He tallied three goals in his collegiate debut season in 1950. The following season he led the squad with 10 goals, which still ranks tied for 10^th all-time in program history for a single-season. He helped the squad to a 2-2-4 mark that season en route to First Team All-American selection. He added seven more tallies during his senior season, helping the squad to a 5-5 mark in its first official Ivy League season in 1952.
