Kleiber was an Associated Press honorable mention All-American as a linebacker in 1968. The three-time All-Ivy selection (honorable mention in 1966, 1967; first team in 1968), Kleiber was elected team captain as a senior and earned the team's Pop Warner Most Valuable Player Award in his final season.
