Sylvester was named a second-team CRCA All-American following her junior season after helping the Big Red to qualify for the NCAA championships for the first time in program history. She was also named to the CRCA Mid-Atlantic Region first team and was a CRCA National Scholar-Athlete. The 2002 Big Red went 6-5 on the year and took sixth at the EAWRC Championship before taking second in the third level finals at NCAAs.
