He started every game for the final three seasons of his career and averaged 34 ground balls per year. . Belisle was also honored by Cornell as the winner of the Mario St. George Boiardi '04 Leadership Award for most embodying leadership, athleticism and a strong work ethic. He served the Big Red as co-captain during the 2007 season and anchored the third-best defense in the nation, earning Ivy League Player of the Week honors once. Belisle was routinely given the task of guarding the opposing team's most dangerous offensive threat and proved to be up to the challenge game-in and game-out, holding his defensive marks to an average of 1.69 points per game, while those same players averaged 3.11 points per game against other opponents.

An outstanding student in the college of Industrial and Labor Relations, Belisle was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America At-Large First Team. Following graduation, he was chosen by the L.A. Riptide in the second round of the Major League Lacrosse draft with the 12th overall pick, and was the first overall true defenseman taken in the 2007 National Lacrosse League draft, going to the New York Titans in the first round with the 13th overall pick.
