One of Cornell’s most versatile and talented athletes, Henrickson was a mainstay of the 1976 and 1977 NCAA Division I title lacrosse teams and the 1978 squad which placed second in the national tourney. A three-year starter as a midfielder, he was named to the All-America first team in 1977 and ’78, and received honorable mention honors in 1976. An All-Ivy first team pick as a senior, he ranks 11th on Cornell’s all-time scoring list with 63 goals and 51 assists for 114 points. Tri-captain and team MVP in 1978, he was the recipient of the Lt. Don C. McLaughlin Jr. Memorial Award as the outstanding midfielder in Division I that year. In 1978, he was a member of the United States squad that played in the World Championships in England. During his two varsity seasons as a split end in football, he caught 48 passes for 553 yards. He also led the team in punt returns and was second in kickoff returns as a junior. A shoulder injury prevented him from playing all but one game his senior year. Henrickson was a native of Manhasset, N.Y., and now lives in Brooklyn, N.Y., where he practices veterinary medicine.Â
