Marina was an outstanding midfielder on the excellent Cornell lacrosse team of 1974, 1975 and 1976, during which time the Big Red compiled a record of 43-4. He was named to the All-America first team in 1976, when his critical overtime goal led to an upset victory over Maryland for the national championship. He was an All-America second-team pick in 1975 after being an honorable mention selection as a sophomore. A three-time All-Ivy first-team choice, he currently ranks ninth on Cornell's all-time career scoring list with 129 points, and is tied for fifth in career goals with 92. He was a tri-captain of the Big Red as both a junior and senior. He earned a varsity letter as a starting wide receiver on the football team in 1975. He is a graduate of Massapequa, N.Y. High School.
