Dean was a second-team All-American and a first-team All-Ivy selection at defender in 1970 after helping the Big Red to an undefeated record of 11-0 overall and a mark of 6-0 in Ivy League play. He served as team captain that same season and took home the team’s J.E.B. Sportsmanship Award. Dean was also a second-team All-Ivy honoree in 1969 and was a two-time recipient of the team’s C.F. Morse Lacrosse Scholar-Athlete of the Year award.
