An honorable mention All-American and two time honorable mention All-Ivy selection at goalie, Shea graduated ranked second all-time in Cornell history with 637 career saves. He posted three of the top 10 single-season save records in Cornell history, including a career-best 216 saves in 1991, which was good for second all-time upon his graduation. A four-year letter winner and team co-captain as a senior, he was named the team’s Dr. Ray Van Orman Memorial Award winner, as the squad’s MVP that same season. Shea was also awarded the Joe Philip Memorial Award in 1992, given to the player that contributes the most to the overall team effort. For his career, Shea posted a .626 save percentage and a 10.44 goals-against average. He closed his career with a record f 22-16 overall and averaged 15.5 saves per contest. Following his senior season, he was chosen to play in the North-South All-Star game.
