Salvatore was a standout defender for the Big Red during his career, being named a USILA All-American, two-time Inside Lacrosse Media All-American, and two-time All Ivy League selection. Even with a shortened senior season due to COVID-19, Salvatore closes out his Cornell career ranked second all-time in Big Red history in caused turnovers (71). He led the Big Red in the statistical category in each of his final two seasons, causing an impressive 32 turnovers as a junior, a mark which is the third-most in Cornell history for a single season and is just two off of the school record. Five of Salvatore’s caused turnovers during the 2019 season came against Penn, a mark which sits fourth in the Big Red record books for a single game. After posting these impressive numbers, Salvatore was named unanimous first-team All-Ivy, USILA honorable mention All-America, and Inside Lacrosse Media honorable mention All-America as a junior. Salvatore followed this up with a third-team All-America selection from Inside Lacrosse as a senior following a shortened season that saw the Big Red go 5-0 and finish the year at No. 2 in the USILA Coaches’ Poll. A captain in his final stint, Salvatore was selected as one of 20 candidates for the Senior CLASS Award in collegiate men’s lacrosse while also earning Academic All-Ivy recognition. A four-year starter for Cornell, playing in every single contest (51) over his four years, Salvatore helped the Big Red to the 2018 Ivy League Tournament title and an NCAA Tournament berth. Cornell would go on to defeat Syracuse in the first round and advance to the NCAA Quarterfinal.
